Cleaning company Stanley Steemer has begun offering hardwood floor cleaning services. The process-which does not use steam-includes a consultation, light vacuum, application of a cleaning solution using a "high-speed rotary brush and extraction machine," and, last, application of a "pH balancing solution," according to a Stanley Steemer sales representative. The wood floor is left dry when cleaning is finished. Scrubbing of baseboards, furniture moving and a 10-day satisfaction guarantee are also included. Cleaning of larger rooms starts at about $168, and cleaning of smaller rooms starts at about $40. Stanley Steemer will throw in a "refinisher" for $84.

Stanley Steemer is also offering hardwood sanding and refinishing. The process includes use of a "powerful dust-containment system" and application of a polyurethane finish, among other steps.
